A wild first several weeks at this year’s World Series just got a whole lot crazier. While playing in the $2,000 Seven-Card Stud Hi-Lo event, Paul “Eskimo” Clark collapsed in the middle of play. The incident took place in the Poker Tent, a.k.a. Poker Sauna, although several players entered in the tournament commented that the temperature inside the room wasn’t very high at the time.

Similar to the Vinny Vinh situation, rumors immediately swirled around the Amazon Room that Clark had died, but these proved to be false. Clark was actually seen moving and talking soon after he fell. A doctor who was playing in the event rushed to his aid as the room was cleared of players and spectators alike. A heavy smoker who could stand to lose a few pounds, Clark appears the likely victim of a heart attack or stroke. It was reported that he was raking in a pot at the time of his collapse.
