I mustered up enough courage to count Howard Lederer's chips...from over his shoulder. I'm guessing it was somewhere around 80k, but when I was counting the loose change we made eye contact and I lost all power to comprehend anything at all about poker. So 80k it is.
During the dinner break I had a chance to catch up with Steve Sung. Steve has had a very solid year, making it deep in event after event. He held a sizeable chip lead after busting Barry Greenstein in 4th place at the final table of the 7-Stud event. Unfortunately, according to Sung he "totally ****ed it up" before taking 3rd. He is currently sitting on 60k.
Eric Froehlich just ran his stack to over 110k when he won a three-way pot holding the K

board. EFro has one cash this series, and is hoping to make it three bracelets in his first three years. That would be an incredible accomplishment in fields this size. I look foward to a recap blog from EFro at the end of the day.
Thomas Wahlroos is hanging in around 50k but has not quite been able to get his feet underneath him in the last couple of levels. Doyle Brunson, Max Pescatori, and chip leader James Gorham all remain.
Doyle will have the pressure on him as Phil Hellmuth is quickly closing in on his 11th bracelet...
